Best laid plans...

I saw Margaret working on the bouquets for the Copper/Black wedding the other night - Red roses, white freesia and star of Bethlehem - really beautiful bouquets. I saw that bright red and white and thought, "Wouldn't that look great with a flag?" So Saturday morning I took a bouquet, a table and a flag out to a field and tried to get my shots. As I was setting up the wind began to pick up so I rushed through it a little bit and finally the wind got to a point where I couldn't trust the bouquet to stand up on the table so I had to quit. When I got home I was unhappy with the composition - the tree that's close and to the right and the shadow behind table. Maggie made the more obvious comment and when I put it up on the computer screen I saw that she was right - the photograph looks like it might have been taken from the edge of Arlington National Cemetery. Not exactly the way you want to photograph a wedding bouquet.

Sorry.
